Sunday Concert Series: Orpheus Reed Trio

The Orpheus Reed Trio will be featured at the Springville Museum of Art on Sunday, January 22nd at 4:30 p.m. in the Grand Gallery. Normally held on the third Sunday of the month, it was postponed to the 22nd due to the holiday the previous weekend. This concert is FREE to the public so bring all of your family and friends! The Orpheus Reed Trio consists of three superb musicians; Geralyn Giovannetti, oboist, Jaren Hinkley on clarinet and Christian Smith playing bassoon. They have performed all over the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico and Brazil with many famous orchestras including the Utah Symphony, the Orchestra at Temple Square, and Ballet West. Dr. Giovannetti is a Professor of Oboe at Brigham Young University and received her DMA degree from the University of Michigan. She is also a graduate of the University of Western Ontario in her native Canada. Dr. Hinkley is also a Professor at BYU and teaches clarinet. He received his D. M. and M. M. music degrees from Florida State University and Indiana University. Dr. Smith is Professor of Bassoon at the BYU School of Music. Beyond his responsibilities with the bassoon studio, he conducts the Symphony Orchestra, teaches instrumental conducting, coaches woodwind chamber music ensembles, and regularly performs with Orpheus Winds, the resident faculty ensemble.
